Our Programs

Our organization has developed several impactful programs—and has a few more in progress—to support victims and survivors of domestic abuse. These initiatives are designed to offer safety, healing, and empowerment to those who need it most.

We are currently welcoming both time and financial donations to help these programs grow and reach more individuals in crisis. Every contribution, whether it’s a volunteer hour or a dollar, makes a direct and meaningful difference.

Go Bag Initiative

“On average, a victim of domestic abuse will leave an abusive relationship seven times before leaving for good.” In those instances, most people are only able to leave with the clothes on their backs, sometimes even less. Our Go Bag Program offers anyone looking to escape their abuser a way out with the help of community partners. The Go Bags are left in key locations throughout the area in discreet, well-hidden spots.

Each bag will contain essential items such as clothes (adult and children’s), food, housing vouchers, transportation, or gas vouchers. Our Go Bags, on average, cost $75. Cash donations are welcome and appreciated. If you’re interested in being a community partner or donating, email contact@tredva.org

Safe House Intense Empowerment Location Defense

Empowerment Through Preparedness: A Safety and Awareness Initiative.

Most survivors of intimate partner violence experience stalking and harassment by current or former partners. In response, we’ve created a survivor-centered program designed to prevent further harm and restore a sense of security and confidence.

This initiative equips survivors with customized safety strategies and essential tools to protect themselves and their homes. Participants learn how to:

  • Use and secure digital evidence such as threatening texts, emails, and audio recordings

  • Incorporate home security options like doorbell cameras

  • Track incarcerated abusers’ release dates through online systems

  • Develop practical self-defense skills when appropriate

  • Rebuild awareness of their environment without living in fear or constant hypervigilance

Beyond tactics, this program helps restore agency and peace of mind—giving survivors back the power to feel safe in their own lives.

We are currently accepting both time and financial donations to help support and expand this vital work. Your contribution directly fuels a path toward healing and empowerment for countless individuals.

Village

My Village: A Community of Healing and Support

Research shows that a significant percentage of domestic abuse survivors experience post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) —some studies report rates as high as 84%. Healing from such trauma requires more than time; it requires connection, understanding, and the unwavering presence of a supportive community.

Our mission is to create a safe and nurturing space for survivors of domestic abuse. Through compassionate support groups, survivors are introduced to a network of advocates and peers who walk alongside them on the healing journey. These groups offer more than emotional support—they cultivate shared experiences, therapeutic coping strategies, and a profound sense of belonging.

But healing doesn't happen in isolation. My Village also works with the survivor’s extended support network—family, friends, coworkers—to “train the village.” Through education and awareness, we empower these allies to better understand, support, and walk beside their loved ones.

Abuse thrives in silence and shadows. This program exists to shine a light, dispel ignorance, and build a stronger, trauma-informed community that sees survivors—not as broken—but as brave, resilient, and worthy of safety and joy.
